In this webinar Jaimie Johnston, Head of Global Systems at Bryden Wood will present to us their innovative work to date. We will then discuss new innovation in construction; including how manufacturing is about what you make and ‘advanced’ manufacturing is about how you make it.
As we enter the fourth industrial revolution (Industry 4.0) the construction industry will be required to keep pace with exponential population growth, global demand and rapid change. During this time our industry will be harnessing valuable lessons from other industries, such car makers. These lessons include production line manufacturing, automation, ‘just-in-time’ delivery and ‘industrialised construction’ of components and modules.
Discussion points include:
• The concept of Platforms: increased value and manufacturing lessons applied to construction
• The Construction Innovation Hub: Manufacturing Technology Centre,
BRE and the Centre for Digital Built Britain
• Bryden Wood Open Source Apps:
– SEISMIC and Schools
– PRiSM and Precision Manufactured Housing in London
• Kit of parts for various sectors
• Standardisation vs flexibility
• UK Government clients, inter government sector transferrable systems and Bryden Wood’s journey
• Private sector client application
• Lessons Learned
During this Webinar we interview:
